abstract: movies are a very important part of cultural interchanges. their title translation has distinctive features in mainland and hong kong. generally speaking, mainland translators are more loyal to the original titles, while their hong kong counterparts are more rebellious, i.e., more often resort to trans-creation. this thesis offers a comparative analysis of the translation of film titles in mainland and hong kong, in terms of translation techniques, the characteristics of the film titles as well as differences in cultural backgrounds and the theoretic foundations.

摘要：电影片名作为一部电影的重要组成部分，其翻译在内地和香港有着截然不同的特点：总体来说，内地的翻译忠实原片名，最大限度地保留原片名的形式和意义；香港译界则主张“叛逆性翻译”，即对原片名的再创造。wwW.11665.cOm本文对两地片名翻译的方法、片名的特征及其文化背景和理论依据进行了对比分析。
